About Us

E&J Parts Cleaning Inc. has been an integral part of Waterbury’s metal finishing industry since 1993. From starting with one tumbling machine, a hand scooper and growing to two facilities and 24,000 sq. foot of combined production space off the foundation of hard work and customer service. Having over 40 years’ experience, John T. Clark Jr. and the late Everett J. Hardick Sr. began their journey to form a metal finishing business that surpasses the rest.  Our company strives to give our customers the best possible standard of quality and service. We are currently ISO 9001: 2015 and ITAR Registered

Being a locally owned and family run small business, local partnerships are our backbone. We look at our customers as partners and commit to their needs from the start. We have the flexibility to be able to customize our operations to our customer’s specifications and that helps us be the fluid partner you need. Be it one day turn around or a 6 a.m. drop off, E&J has you covered. Let us do what we do best and show you the cleanest parts possible at the most competitive rates in the industry.

Our long term outlook is moving towards sustainable, green cleaning technology and precision cleaning for the high end automotive, medical and aerospace industries. Industrial cleaning is, and always will be our backbone, however we see an opportunity to elevate our business and service offerings.

In 2022 we received a grant from the State of Connecticut for an advanced, automated, materials microscope that is capable of identifying, categorizing, measuring and photographing particulate contamination after the cleaning process. This microscope comes loaded with its own software that will generate detailed reports outlining particle size and categorization in compliance with ISO 16232, VDA 19 and many other industry cleanliness specifications. It will identify particles down to the size of a red blood cell while highlighting, larger, critical particles that will cause failures in the end product. While technical cleanliness has come to the forefront of the Automotive and E-mobility industries I see this application as a solution to medical component manufacturers as well as Aerospace cleanliness challenges. As batteries, in particular, become more advanced, cleanliness requirements are becoming more stringent. With this investment E&J Parts Cleaning is positioned to tackle the technical cleanliness requirements demanded by our customers. We are testing systems and building control plans as we speak in preparation for imminent launch!

The microscope is the second phase of our expansion into precision cleaning services. In addition to the microscope and software we’ve completed construction of our highly controlled cleanroom environment fitted with 3 hepa filters/fans and a near zero particulate workbench with its own set of hepa filters and blowers. Certification for our cleanroom comes tomorrow and I’m aiming high. Particulate testing needs to be conducted in a highly controlled environment to confidently trust results as its easy to impart contamination to samples simply by the ambient air in the testing space. Controlling the air quality and supply is critical. Coupled with state of the art equipment, and effective sample extraction methods (among many processes and controls) I’m confident we will bring our brand of business to the cleanliness lab world.

Lastly, in addition to this cleanroom and microscope program we’ve invested heavily into a state of the art, automated vacuum vapor degreaser which will utilize a cutting edge, precision cleaning solvent reducing our reliance on hazardous cleaning solvents, and ultimately eliminating them from our waste stream all together. While a significant investment, it is a necessary one as it offers a sustainable solution to industrial degreasing for the long term. This has been a personal goal of ours for some time which in years past, seemed unattainable. Pairing this cleaning system with the microscope and clean room will now allow me to offer “end to end” precision cleaning services where I can automate my cleaning process and validate the cleanliness on a microscopic level ensuring the highest quality finish.
